VERSAFLO™ fill up and flow back tool successfully circulates drill string out of hole
Customer challenges
  • A Canadian operator sought a solution to save time while circulating a drilling assembly out of hole
  • An operator sought a time-saving solution while tripping a drilling assembly out of hole from a depth of 14,042ft.  The VERSAFLO™ Casing and Drill Pipe Flowback and Circulation Tool was proposed to allow the rig to quickly and effectively pull out the drill string on elevators, while circulating with the tool’s packer assembly necessary

Expro Excellence
  • In this case, the Drill Pipe Module of the VERSAFLO™ tool was engaged primarily to eliminate the need to mechanically connect the top drive to the drill string, allowing for increased tripping speed. Also, the tool’s automated internal fluid valve would rectify any U-tubing that might occur

Value to client
  • The drilling assembly was successfully circulated out of hole with the aid of the VERSAFLO™ tool. The operations team was pleased with the amount of time saved and the reduction of wear to the top drive saver sub due to the use of the VERSAFLO™ tool
  • Approximately 4-5 hours of time savings
  • Mitigation of wear/damage to saver sub
