Expro Excellence
Well Flow Management Subsea Well Access
Expro completes multiple successful Subsea Test Tree disconnects and reconnects during a single well
Customer challenges
  • Expro supplied a large bore subsea test tree assembly as contract holders
  • Our client was performing completion operations in the UK North Sea during winter months in challenging sea conditions
  • The customer encountered several challenges with the subsea completion operations which extended operations beyond the planned schedule, with severe weather conditions requiring several disconnect and reconnects of the subsea landing string
Expro Excellence
  • Five separate Subsea Test Tree (SSTT) disconnects / reconnects were carried out successfully. Four of these were completed without recovery of equipment to surface, proving Expro’s system reliability
  • The primary and secondary 7 3/8” ELSA-LB SSTTA systems were operational for a three-month period with zero non-productive time
  • Expro provided project management, interface engineering services and experienced personnel to deliver the customer's scope of work
  • Safety was our priority in delivering equipment and carrying out the customer's work scope
Value to client
  • The equipment was delivered on schedule from Expro's global subsea support hub in Aberdeen
  • Performance of our debris tolerant SSTT latch design allowed for safe and efficient disconnection from the well during inclement weather conditions on multiple occasions without requiring redress
  • The performance of our SSTTA latch ensured downtime in bad weather was kept to a minimum
  • Our customer commended the performance of Expro's equipment and personnel during project execution
